Mobile County Emergency Medical Services System
Rescue Squad, Inc. (MCEMSSRS) is the leading provider of rural pre-hospital
care, emergency medical education and training, and medical dispatch
communications. The organization was founded in 1992 as a volunteer driven
(EMS) with the concerted effort of the Mobile County Commission to promote the
health, welfare and safety of residents living in rural and economically
distressed communities within Mobile County. This includes certain geographic
areas that exist within boundaries where emergency medical services are not
available within acceptable standards, and whereas the lack of acceptable
standards endangers the well being of citizens who live there. MCEMSSRS has
approximately 130 combination personnel (paid and volunteer), dedicated to
providing Medical First Response, Basic Life Support and Advanced Life
Support.
